EMINEM STUDIO ENGINEER CHARGED WITH STEALING TRACKS

Acting U.S. Attorney Julie Beck (Detroit) announced Wednesday that Joseph Strange is charged with copyright infringement and interstate transportation of stolen goods in relation to the Eminem leak earlier this year. Strange, a former studio engineer for Eminem, has been accused of stealing the rapper's unreleased tracks and selling them online.

An FBI affidavit states that 46-year-old Strange lost his job at Eminem's Detroit studio in 2021. In January of this year, other studio employees reported to the FBI that unreleased music was appearing online. The leak was widely reported at the time. People who purchased the music led investigators to Strange.

According to the Associated Press, Strange's attorney says the charges are untested allegations and the matter will be handled in court.
